An Introduction to New Haven

See this content in the original post

New Haven is one of the oldest cities in America with a rich heritage in ivy league education with Yale University leading the charge. Despite being one of the most educated cities in the nation, there is still an extreme need for the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With an increase in paganism, humanism, and atheism, the need for the preaching of the gospel has never been more necessary.

New Haven is a city of cultural extremes. Along with the wealthy elites and young university students, there is also a large homeless population, high crime, and extreme poverty. In addition to the native New Englanders and New Yorkers that call this area home, New Haven also has a large ethnic population from China, Latin America, Italy, and Ecuador. All of these demographics converge in a very small land mass area along the northern coast of Long Island Sound.

Most of the churches in this region are mainstream traditional denominations. There are very few Spirit-filled, Full Gospel churches or ministries within New Haven county. Moreover, this city has one of the largest university student populations per capita in the world with 8 universities and colleges located within a 10-mile radius. This is a strategic base for reaching young adults, ethnic groups, the poor, and New York commuters with the new life in Christ.
